Default Full Spool for 8.6" Rear ends?

Anyone out there know any part numbers or companies that offer a full spool or maybe even a mini-spool for the new-style diffs. Thanks in advance for any advice/info.

that's what I think... I know when I was looking to get my Powertrax I was told either the 8.5 or 8.6 would go into my truck, but they did make one specifically for the 8.6 so that's what I went with

Is this going to be a strip only application?A spool will be a real pain on the street, braking traction going around corners or breaking the spool or axles if the tires don't break loose.

No, not strip only, it will see street use.....I think that the spool might be O.K., but would probably rather put him in a good Limited Slip. The thinkg that worries me about the spool the most is having to put around in the rain. That could get ugly.

Its a bad idea if you have drum brakes. Spools can break a axle fairly easily. In drum brakes, when the axle breaks it goes shooting out the side of truck tire and all. When a disc brake axle breaks the caliper keeps it from going anywhere. Of course C-clip eliminators and such will help prevent all that. I used to daily drive a mustang with a full spool. Lots of fun but be careful.

I am not tring to knock the spool but i wouldn't put one in a street car. It is worthless in the rain, You stand a good chance to break axles. get your self a good lsd. I also think the the 8.5 will work for the 8.6

Well, the whole spool idea is over and an Auburn Diff is going in.
