Default Fuddle Racing tow/race converters

I know some of you guys are real interested in a converter you can do your daily activities in but yet, has the performance available for when you need it. I was talking to John @ Fuddle Racing yesterday and apparently his company is opening a line for new tow/race converters for our trucks. Here is some information about these converters that I received from John.

Our original intention was to build a 278mm, but we have instead designed a 245mm converter that will have more than twice the clutch size as the 278mm (same clutch size as the 300mm). With a towing converter, the biggest factor is keeping a big clutch so that it doesn't burn under the stress caused by towing. We have a propritary front cover that has been developed to house 245mm components and has a very large clutch. The stock clutch has an inside diameter of 10" and an outer diameter of 11.125" creating a clutch surface of approx 19" sq. Our converter will use an inside diameter of 7" and an outside diameter of 10" creating a clutch surface of approx 40" squared. That translates directly into a better holding power when locked. While it does add strength, the billet cover is primarily used for its shape to house the bigger clutch.

The deal we are going to offer will be considerable and actually is less than the manufacturing cost of the converter. I will be loosing money on each of these three. Each will be sold at $345 + shipping for a total of $395 SHIPPED. These converters will enter the market at a price of $500-$550 + shipping ($50).

We have designed this to be one of the premier towing converters available. Let me know if I can answer any more questions for you.
Fuddle is an LS1Tech sponsor so, if anyone is interested you will have to find him there. He is going to be selling 3 of these things at a real low price to get them on the market. I figured a few of you guys would like to jump on this.

It kinda sucks he is opening this line and then we get moved. LOL I wanted to post this up so no one missed it. Hopefully this helps.

Kyle

How much stall can this converter handle towing without getting hot?Seems the stall slippage would be the biggest problem towing due to heat ,with the converter locked it wont get as hot and of course its not always locked when you hit the long steep grades.
