Default front end questions

well it seems winter time is here and there is a butt ton of snow on the ground. problem is i had to remove my front end because it was whining. well i took it apart and found the ring and pinion and the diff spider gears have a few small pits in them. well i have no money till income tax time to fix it. so i need to know if it will be ok to check clearances on it and put it back together with new fluid and run it. i need to go to Arkansas for two weeks also to i need to know if it will be ok for the drive. remember my front end is a AWD front end. right now i have a modded t-case that is 2wd only so i can get around.

i can roll 2wd but i don't know how the weather will be in Arkansas and this is the time of year they love to have ice storms.
