I was wondering about that. I guess we will find out. Lol. I don't mind cutting and welding at all.

In case anyone was wondering the 9.25 is physically wider than the 8.25. A rough measurement with a tape measure reads aboit 1 5/8 wider overall. Measuring from the yoke it is about 1" wider on the drivers side and 5/8 wider on the passenger side. I will be putting it in the roller soon with a mock up engine to see how bad it looks.

If you get it to work make sure it is fully engaged before you launch

Oh wow. Sorry to see that. Thanks for sharing the pics. Did you have a locker in it? I assume that is the passenger axle shaft inside the housing that connects with the coupler, shift fork, and motor. What year is that? I might have my hands on a newer carrier that I believe has a stronger case. He did not believe the axle was coupled together like the older ones. I don't know enough about them to say so. Anyways I would leave mine engaged all the time as I will be using AWD.

I found a front out of a 2011 today. According to the 4X4 guys the one piece case is much stronger.

Im not sure why it looks like a Ford. I actually haven't purchased it yet. A good friend owns it. It has 26k miles on it, and he pulled it when he swapped his truck to 4.10 gears.

It would beed newer CV shafts though. The flange on this one has 8 bolts and the flange on the older front end has 6. Unless the shafts are interchangeable. I really haven't had time to mess with it yet.

I am having a hard time pinning down a part number for the 2011-13 carrier locker unit.

If anyone was wondering the 2500 CV shaft will slide right in the 1500 hub. The 1500 CV is about 1/2" longer than the 2500, and the 2500 carrier is about 1 1/2 longer than the 1500. So when all assembled it is about .500 wider overall give or take(using a rough measurment with a tape measure). I am pretty sure I can make it work with the older carrier.
