ShiftA solenoid possibly failed. Or a wiring problem from PCM to Transmission.. or PCM.

If the transmission is unplugged it defaults it into 2nd (in in manual pos.) and 3rd only. make sure the connection is on properly.

if its internal I would look at the low roller clutch assembley, it has to be goo in order for 1st gear to work.

Also and tranny codes? A good tranny shop usually has a scanner to will let you know if the computer is requesting 1st gear or not.

With the loss of power to your transmission the symptoms you have seem to be normal. I'm sure that the plug not being connected is where the issue is. The binding you felt in manual low was because of the no power condition. Basically in limp mode the 3rd clutch is applied and I will assume that you have a transgo kit. With the gear command feature of this kit, the low clutch being applied at the same time as the 3-4 clutch creates this bind. Hopefully you did not damage the low clutch in the process. Vince
