Default Forward gears unresponsive

Tonight I was driving through town when I stopped at a red light. When the light turned green I eased into the gas but the truck didn't move. The engine rev'd but would not engage the driveline. After pushing it into a parking lot I tried running it through the gears, only reverse worked. Yesterday I just had a 3000 stall converter installed along with the new tune. Anyone have any ideas about what could be wrong?

First thing to check would be the tranny level, if thats all good i would suspect either the forward sprag or clutches to be smoked or damaged.

If you unplug the tranny it should default it into 3rd gear, you could try this to see if the forward clutches are good, if it works, maybe its just something electronical such as a solenoid...???

Well the fluid was good. I just can't see why this would happen without any warning signs

I'll give it a shot, hopefully nothing is broke. I wonder if its a tuning issue?

Well I just unplugged the transmission, battery, and computer. The good news is that the truck moves again in drive. The bad news is that it takes an aweful lot of gas to get it moving and keep it moving. I'm thinking the TC isn't connecting the engine to the tranny correctly.

Sorry to say this but I feel you have an internal issue with your transmission. You either have an output shaft that is broke between the front planet and the rear ring gear or I would suspect that your sprag or input drum have an issue. I really do not think the tune is why it does not move.

The reason why your truck will move with the trans basically in a limp mode condition is because the 3-4 clutch is driving the reaction shaft and this is splined into the rear planet. This drives the rear ring gear and thus you have movement. Vince

My transmission guy told me that its my front sprag. Oh well, **** happens. I gotta tell ya though, when everything was functioning properly it was one hell of a trip to drive.

Well update time. The shop pulled my transmission apart only to find that it was my input shaft that broke. The input shaft had snapped in half between the converter and pump taking the input drum with it. Luckily the pump and converter are still in good condition.
