Wow, the trucool looks great. May have to add that to the mod list. Send me that EAD info too please if you don't mind Billy.

So when are you finishing it up?

Also, install on your 40K looks sweet. I like how clean it mounts, flat black matches better than a semi gloss. However, I don't like the extra cuts in baffle even if it's hidden. Nice work!

BTW, you're not gettin old, u are.

Dead blow hammers. Do Not leave those out in the cold!!! Bring em inside over winter. Trust me on this. Already replaced 1 this winter that shattered, now another has to go back left out. Unless, u were man-handling it like a beast.
The trucool bolts in from the front, just like the top bracket...if you look at the pics of the brackets by themselves, you can see the little threaded clips that pop on to the brackets (which are supposed to come with the brackets but mine didn't, no biggie, quick trip to Sears and I was good to go!)

I was man-handling that dead blow lol...although it has seen some cold temps in the past which may have affected it.

LOL, I can't believe that I forgot to mention that...it was the easiest part of the swap. I removed the cat back, and loosened the band clamps at the collectors to see if they would slide off to take the y-pipe out as one piece, and everything just slid apart, I mean everything, clamps that I didn't loosen came apart...and they're fully tightened, can't believe that they're not leaking big time. The y-pipe came out in 4 pieces lol. While it was out I took the liberty to gut the cats

Thanks Tom, I'll PM you that info I'm hoping to finish it up after work this week, I'd like to take the truck down to my mom's for memorial day weekend. I brought the driveshaft and u-joints to work, so I should get that done tonight, then all that's left is to install the driveshaft, exhaust, fill fluids, skid plates, check for leaks and button up the grille. I have Rosie tomorrow, so maybe Wednesday...might try to work on it tonight. I'd like to get my JGP 20's on it too...it's summer time baby!

Yea, it only fits one way or the bolt holes on the cooler won't line up

As Dan mentioned, the slip yoke is the major clunk and clang. It has been revised with a nickel plated one, which is what I was trying to install today but the u-joints were busting my chops

Here's what I did today...

The original clip that's prone to breakage...mine was OK, but I'm glad that I replaced it anyway

The redesigned clip that slips on to the pump

Clip part number

If you decide to do this repair, pay special attention to the pump pickup screen, mine was totally clogged with the excess case sealer from when the t-case was assembled at the factory:

This is the sealer that the dealer sold me when I asked them what they used to seal the t-case

Wrestling the t-case around is a bitch, so I came up with an idea to give my buddy and me an extra hand

The EAD brackets for the TruCool 40K, painted flat black

Trucool installed

A look at the lines and compression fitting, and slots cut into the little plastic shield to accommodate the lines

SnapOn 14v 3/8 cordless impact gun...this tool has been invaluable throughout this job...I was able to break just about every bolt loose except the 18mm crossmember bolts and the top bellhousing bolts that needed long extensions

Casualty of war...SnapOn dead blow that blew apart trying to get u-joints out
The Orange hammers are under warranty. They all break. The new ones are Red. I know from breaking 2
