Default flip kit question

Is it really necessary to cut off the stock bump stop for a 2/5 drop (flip kit) on a NNBS CC? I read somewhere that someone didn't cut theirs off.

I think it would be better to take them off and get small bump stops it'll give you more room for the differential to travel and less chance of bottoming out...
