i have a 3/4 drop on my truck with helwig overload springs on the rear which raise it about an inch (making it 3/3). i want the truck lower in the back so i was thinking about putting the stock shackles and hangers back on it, and putting a flip kit and c-notch on it with shock mount extenders (i think thats what they are called) which will set the truck at about a 3/5 drop (making it sit level). am i on the right track or is there a better way to retain the trucks current payload (or increase it) and lower my truck more?

Yes... I am first
You could use air helper springs. They work great rather loaded or empty. I had a set on an old 3/4 ton I had with a 5/7 drop, and I never had a problem eaither way.
I went cheap and used my air nailer tank to fill up my springs, since I spent all the money on the motor I didn't have money for the auto system.

a flip kit with stock shackles will actually get you a 6" rear drop. to obtain a 5" drop you'd need to put in 1" lift shackles.
as said above, the best way to up your payload with a flip kit would be to put in helper bags. that way you can adjust how firm or soft it will ride depending on your payload.

who makes a good set of helper bags? how much should i expect to spend on a set?

Flip kit, lift shackles, and helper bags should do the trick. You could just skip the lift shackles and put a little air in the helper bags to lift it up to a 5" drop. Air lift and Mcgaughy's both have helper bag kits many people use.
How do the overload springs you have attach? They may still raise the truck, or depending on how they are attached with the flip kit they may lower the truck more.
