Default Fixed my steering wheel clunk...

...with long tube headers.

In all seriousness though my steering wheel clunk is gone. It has done it since day one from the dealership, but I basically just ignored it. I haven't read much about the issue, just enough to know that its been around and theres no good way to get rid of it.

Anyways i disconnected the steering shaft and pushed it in towards the steering wheel to get more room to slide the headers in. Then pulled it back out to hook back up, not sure what that did or if it did anything, but thats the only thing I have touched on the steering.

Didn't notice it right away, just happened to think about it one day. Been paying close attention since I thought about it and I haven't had a single clunk, bump, or anything.

Flame away you disbelievers.

Not hard to believe, the noise is coming from a lack of lubrication (laugh it up) and since you moved it around you redistributed the lubrication only temporarily curing the problem. It will come back(sorry). I'm just confused why you are having the problem on a 07. I would assume you truck would have the newer version.

I had wondered about that (the lubrication). Time will tell, even if it does I wouldn't mind pushing the shaft in and out (ha ha) every few thousand miles to cure the clunking.
