Default Fitment questions

I have a 2003 1500 Z71 with the 5.3

My tranny is going out, and im looking at buying a used 65e out of an 05 escalade. Will it fit, since it was mated to a 6.0?

Also, ive heard an 80e will bolt right in with no modifications, is this true? If so, I just want to buy an 80e, and swap it in.

Thanks for the help in advance.

The 65 will work, but you need to change flex plates if it was mated to a 80e.. The 80e is a bolt in app, but you need to play with a new harness, trans mount, also have the ds shortened..

Yes it will fit... not sure about the transfercase difference from the Escalade and your Z71..

The 80E will bolt it, but read KYSilverado's write up
