Default Exploding Tranny Pump?

So the tranny pump on the hoe went last week and i got a call today from the tranny shop and i'm not sure how much i trust the meachanic. i have had problems in the past and he just generally doesnt like me but he is really the only one around so here it is. he told me that the pump "exploded" and as a result, all the metal went through the rest of the tranny and ruined the whole thing. he said it needs a complete overhaul and a new (stock) converter, again all because the pump "exploded." he said he has never seen that happen before and it was probably caused by running nitrous (sounds like BS to me) which he maintains will do nothing but destroy the engine anyway. it just sounds kinda funny since i've never heard of a pump exploding. he also did a ring and pinion swap for me a couple months back and it took 30 miles of cruise control before the ring gear was shredded; again something "he has never seen." apparently he used a very low quality gearset and ended up putting in some Richmonds afterwards. just wanted some input here from those who know more than me.

ive had the 2 engagement teeth break on me before.. but never heard one "Exploding"

Not sure what you want to do.. but to be safe, new clutchs and checking the valve body wouldnt hurt.

i cant do anything myself, i dont have anyplace to work and the shop wont touch it except to rebuild cuz he doesnt want me coming back in a month with a new problem. he is giving me a hard time about the nitrous too, i dont use it anymore and i pulled it out but he wont warranty a rebuilt tranny because "i might" use nitrous again. his words, not mine.

If he is your only choice then i guess thats what you have to do.. if nothing else get a built unit from a sponsor??

Nothing else close to get it rebuilt?

haha, i wont drop names, just stay out of Northwood NH. i'm working on trying to get the built unit, but because i need a new converter its gonna work out to be quite a bit more expensive. it should be cheaper, but the shop is charging me labor for diagnosing the problem, which i guess is ok in addition to reinstallation cost so i'm already $300 or so in to it just for pulling the tranny and looking at it.

trust me 90% of these mom and pop tranny places have never seen a performance part for a tranny and will throw a stock rebuild kit in every one of them...spend the money and get a built unit from a sponsor and get a good verter and call it a day....i went throu 4 " built trannys" before i bought a flt level 5 tranny and all i can say is i waisted ALOT of money before doing the right thing...
