Default Eaton Posi vs Detroit TrueTrac any differences????

I have decided my next mod will be gears (4.10s) and either an Eaton Posi or Detroit TrueTrac. Just wondering what everyone else is using and there opinions on each. What are the difference between the two units? oh and I need the 30 spline unit correct?

Thanks in advance...

i plan on a detroit trutrac.

the eaton has clutches that can wear, but the tru-trac has only gears. i havent read or heard of any problems from either

btw, eaton bought out detroit, so they are co-owned now but still have the separate names.

so the main difference is clutches vs gears.... Hmmm, I have noticed that the truetrac is cheaper ~$369 on ebay vs Eaton Posi $420. I am leaning towards the TrueTrac...

i love my True Trac. and people with Eaton's seem to love them. in my opinion get which ever you can get cheaper.

I've driven them both and honestly go with whichever is cheaper. You can't really go wrong with either. I only chose the Eaton because I caught Summit with a major discount on them.

I love my tru trac, doesn't make any noise, in fact i don't even know it's there until i hammer the throttle. I believe it's the best investment I've made yet, besides HP Tuners. I went from 3.73 to 4.1 and didn't really feel any difference, if i had to do it again I'd go 4.30's

Why go with an LSD that has clutches that can wear out? Get a TrueTrac. I love mine.

Thanks for the responses guys, I am just going to go with the cheaper of the two. I was just making sure there were no annoying problems with either, like noise, etc...
