I know how to get the old unit off.. do i need to do anything else to the new unit if it already has all those bearing type gears on it?...i have the link for step by step to install it.. but is there anything i need to do to the unit to get it installed?

What year did it come out of? The new body style trucks use a different carier bearing than the old ones, so the bearings on it may not work.

If it came off a 99 or newer, all you need is the carrier axle seals.

Most master install kits do not include axle seals or bearings, there are a few that do. You would have to ask the seller.

You don't have to do new axle seals, although if you can it woudn't hurt. I think he's saying that they put new carrier bearings on it for him and shipped it, in which case all you woudl need are the races and shims.
