driveshaft was pulled outa tranny..
#1
ok i gota question...i was in a wreck 4 months.
i was tboned pretty bad on the right side on the truck bed area and when the guy hit me it broke loose the rearend off the leafsprings becuz the impact bent the ubolts and released the rearend to free play and as i spun in a 360 the rearend swiveled and pulled the driveshaft outa the transmission....
long story short its easy to realign the rearend and get new ubolts put back on but how do i get the driveshaft put back in the tranny and is it extremely hard? wats the pros and cons about this...
its a 2000 rcsb z71 with a 4/6 drop

If I understand you correctly... you just need to put in a new driveshaft. If that's the case remove the seal with a pick, push the new one in. Slip the yoke in, swing the shaft up to the rear yoke and bolt the straps over the u-joint. Oh do it with the rear on jackstands or with the truck in neutral and parking brake on.

Check the tailshaft housing of the trans, with an impact that hard that yanked the driveshaft out of the trans, it may have damaged the tailshaft housing on the trans. I'd replace the seal at the very least as it more than likely got tagged...
