Default Does this sound like an OK plan to lower my Z71?

I'd like to lower my 1999 Z71 RCSB just a little. I just want to to be a bit less floaty and handle a bit better.

From my research and talking with friends, it looks like I could just do keys in the front and drop hangers on the back, along with removing the block in the back.

Could I use parts like below to give me a simple 2/4 drop?

Thanks!
Adam

I dont' think keys will lower you that much and I think you'll get worse ride quality up front with them cranked all the way down. Your other option is 2in drop spindles and keep the stock keys.

In the rear just do 2in drop shackles and remove the block. Alot less work because you have to either grind all the rivets off the hangers or use air tools to slot the heads and air hammer them off. If you have rust and truck thats seen alot of winters, the shackle bolts might be frozen inside the leaf spring bushing.

I have block delete and shackles in the back with keys in the front and it drives pretty well. Didnt even need to align it. The keys are adjusted all the way up so I have plenty of room drop the front. Just need to modify the front bumpstops so its not as stiff.

I have dropped keys on mine and shackles on the back. It's a perfect setup for a mild drop

I took the blocks and helper leafs out of the back of my Z71, and pulled the bolts out of the stock keys in front. I had to get the shorter u-bolts from the dealer.

I also removed the Z71 bump stops up front and put regular 4x4 bumpstops in...helps the ride...didn't touch the rear bumpstops.

After that, I put in a set of Belltech shocks, it rides great (much smoother than stock was), handles nice for a truck, and it's lower enough for me.

The 99 in my sig is decranked stock t-bars and keys. Removed lift blocks and overload springs in the rear. Replaced factory bumpstops with Belltech lowering bumpstops front and rear, and removed the rear bumpstop bracket. Keep in mind, it has almost a 3" body lift to clear the Duramax...
