Difference between Eaton LSD and Detriot Tru-trac

The reason I went with the Eaton LSD was simple… According to a few shops that work on drivelines the Detroit TruTrac is a “violent” lock since it is a gear style locker vs. the smooth action of the Eaton LSD. They also said that the Eaton LSD could take more power because of this… The 1,000hp TruTracs are not the same units for our trucks. I called Detroit and they said the Trutrac was rated for 500RWHP and they did not recommend more then that, Eaton did not have a rated power for their LSD but said it should handle at least 500RWHP… I like the Eaton LSD, it drives great and it is noise free…
