Default difference between 2wd/4wd 4l60e

Have a 2004 tahoe 4wd. transmission bit the dust.

need to know the difference between the 2wd and 4wd transmissions. (other than the T-case obviously)

i mean is there an output shaft difference or bellhousing/input shaft different.

or if i were to buy a 2wd trans. would it be as simple as swapping my t-case/tail shaft to the 2wd transmission and install it?

The difference is the output shaft to accomodate the t-case. In order to make a 2wd a 4wd you will have to disassemble the trans and swap shafts. If you are going through that much trouble, might as well build it while ur there. Be easier to find a 4wd if you want a straight swap

Thats pretty solid advise above. If you were to take it to a trans shop I would think that they could swap a shaft for you for less than a hundred dollars. Vince
