Default Did I make a mistake?

I recently installed a transgo HD2 kit and vette servo on my 06 rcsb 4x4. I left one washer out and drilled it with the smaller bit. It shifts really hard. When I had my tune done by justin at Blackbear he lowered the pressure and it made the shift less violent but I see ujoint problems coming in the near future. At normal acceleration it is a nice crisp shift. If i nail it then it barks and leaves about 3-5 feet of rubber. I gotta say it is a nice difference over the way it was stock but it just might be a little much. Ive read and it makes sence to me that a higher stall will make the shift seem a little milder but is actually still shifting just as hard. How hard is too hard?

I honestly dont know? I just had justin tune it last saturday and he said he was going to drop the pressure down a bit. I know that its a night and day difference for sure though. This was my first go at any mods on my truck (trying to get the itch) haha

Usually, with a built trans and a shift kit, the transmission pressure settings get put back to stock values. If you're working with Justin, he will get you fixed right up. He knows what he's doing.

well my tranny was stock. I figured at 120000 miles it will be short lived anyway and I will have a little fun before I have to rebuild one or do the 80e swap. Yeah justin did my truck some real good. Id definately point people in his direction. I went with a 93 octane tune and he set up a sport mode in the tow haul. We couldnt play with it because my button is broken and all. I cant see why id need it to shift any harder than it does now though. What do you think that kind of shifting will do to the high mileage transfer case?

My transfer case has over 150K on it by now, and it's 100% stock. I'd guess that it's okay, if it's been maintained & not ran low on fluid, or ran with mis-matched tires.

Make sure that your accumulator valve and sleeve are installed in the correct way. They can be installed upside down and the complaint is a hard 1-2 shift and also a hard 3-4 shift. By installing this upside down you are pretty much blocking the accumulator oil for 2nd and 4th in the valve body.

I normally only use one washer with the gold spring seat in the 1-2 accumulator housing when using the hd-2 kit. If this shift is still to much reinstall your original springs in the housing first and then reinstall the piston. This should help tone it down some.

Good advice here from some good folks already, but I would add that with a transmission that has some miles on it like yours does it is not healthy for it to be shifting so aggressively. The teeth on the clutches themselves can strip right off and the band anchors can fail if it's allowed to continue.

I know you mentioned that it's only a matter of time before it needs to come out to be built, but if you can calm it down maybe you can get more time out of it that you think!
