Default Custome Aluminum Driveshafts

So I'm swapping to an 80e. Going to need a shorter drive shaft.

I have a 1 pc 4"? aluminum DS and want to stay with a 1 pc aluminum. Who can build one of these long SOB's?

Thinking of going with 1350 u-joints while at it. Can anybody tell me what yoke I need for my stock 8.6 rear. Part number/source etc?

TIA for any input.

Somebody just told me today that speed engineering sells the driveshafts complete? They have conversion "kits" advertised on their site, call them.

Roger I have a 2 piece setup you can have for a couple of bucks. You have to fab a carrier mount and that's it. It is already cut for the 80e.

Ohterwise, I got mine from Inland Empire Driveline Service, most call up Denny's, and yes...get the 1350's.

Dew's two piece sounds like a good deal. The rear U joint is a 1350 by 3r for the stock 10 bolt yolk.

I've read that they aren't selling any more conversion kits. Still a phone call wouldn't hurt.

I really need to get on phone but do remember reading that Denny's won't do aluminum shafts above 60'". Shoot me a PM on your shafts. I'll keep my options open. What are you running now from Empire and why? Single steel like Breeze?

Are you saying I already have a 1350?

No the stock 10 bolt U joint is a 3r, the conversion joint to adapt it to your new 1350 yolk driveshaft will have 1350 on one side and 3r on the diff side.

Gotcha.... but thinking of changing over entirely to 1350 so changing the slip yoke transfer case side and the pinion yoke.
