Default Cross Pin Bolt Stripped (Help)

il keep this short my cross pin bolt is slightly rounded off for those who dont know its the bolt inside the cross pin in the diffrential that sits between the axle shafts its rounded off i need to replace an axle shaft the only things i can think of would be a x-brand bolt out kit sorry didnt wanna use unsponsord names its a socket thet is for stripped bolts is this the best chance i have or does anyone else have any other thoughts ive considerd vice grips but i want a couple methods for when i disasemble it its 30 bucks in oil everytime i open her up please help

Take a dead-blow hammer and drive a 12 point SAE socket onto it that is just slightly smaller than the metric bolt that is in there (or vice-versa...I think it's a metric bolt though)....you'll ruin the bolt (and maybe the socket) in the process but you'll get the bolt out. The toothed bolt extractor works too but it's quite a bit more money that doing it this way

I saw a set of the toothed bolt extractors thay Yelo mentioned at Sears. Think they were $40 bucks. I will have a set in my box for just such occasions you have.
