Default Craigslist "New GM 4L85e Racing Transmisson"

This guy Rick states that this transmission is a total race tranny. I talked to him about 2 months ago. He didn't seem to know jack about anything and he was being an *** when i was asking q's about the tranny. He would give give responses like "i'm not gonna argue with you about what is inside of the transmision, it's fully built" even though i was simply asking what is in the trans. This tells me he doesn't know what is in it.

I am think of puting a buyer beware about this guy on craigs. The sopposed "gm high performance converter" looks identical to my tcs converter which is just a reman verter.WHat is this 400 output conversion? Isn't the 80e and 400 pretty much the same thickness strength? one is a 32 and one is a 31 one I think is the only difference.

Here is his posting:

New GM 4L85e true street racing transmisson with the super strong turbo 400 output conversion. Pictured GM hi performance 6 lug lockup converter avail but not included . Built to go behind a 850hp supercharged LS7 in a 4000lb street car. $2,500 firm

For more info call Rick Erickson of Extreme Kustoms 951 678-xxxx

I'm looking out for the fellow shopper so they don't get effed by this guy but i didn't want to postup on cl if i wasn't for certain.

the TH400 and 80E uses the same output yoke..... 32 spline? i cant remember.. but i used a TH400 Long yoke and trimmed 5/8" off of it for my 80E Swap.

Sounds like a bunch of fancy talk to sell a transmission .

I did a search on his name and there were several bad complaints about this guy on jalopyjournal iirc.

but again that verter paint looks identical to mine and I doubt 2 companies use that ugly *** color. My verter was said to be around 200-350 I don't recall the exact amount. I don't know how it would last behind a 850hp car as Rick said it would per our phone conversation.

Btw i am not going to buy the trans. I was thinking about it a while back when i needed one but his additude steered me away. I was just wondering what others thoughts werebefore i flagged the guy. I'd hate to see some poor guy get ripped.

That looks like a stock 310mm converter - FYI.
