Can someone tell my what symptoms/noises your truck makes when you crack a flywheel. Also would like to know what generally causes it?

 

Sometimes being loose and moving around, you might hear a thud when you first start it or when you shut off the engine.

 

yeah ive broken a few. when you start your truck sometimes you will hear a hard smack...like someone giving your flywheel a little whack with a hammer.

get under there and turn your flywheel over and look for cracks. easy as taht.

 

when i cracked my flexplate, it made a ticking noise. get the truck in the air and pop out the inspection plate. look for rust lines...usually cracks around the center old holes...not the converter holes. here is a link to photos of my 80e plate.

I've heard them that sound almost like engine knocks when you rev the engine and let off...
