Default Couldn't believe this....converter install

Next friday I'm taking the truck to the dealer to get the trans fluid drained and refilled. Its at 45k now but i have the money so going ahead and getting it done while i can. Well i just for the hell of it asked if they would swap an aftermarket converter in for me and the guy said sure we could.....I proceeded to ask how much they would charge and he responded: 125 bucks!!!!! Couldn't believe it. So while there next friday the converter is going in as well! For the price I'm paying for both services, and note the trans fluid replacement is more than to do the converter swap, will still cost less than any other shop wanted around here just to do the converter swap!

make sure your converter is actually in your truck before you leave. take off the metal dust cover and look... had a buddy pay to install a circle D converter... he had a stock TBSS converter instead

no i don't have it on an invoice, but both guys that work there told me that. I've dealt with them before and they are always straight forward with me. They said it only takes about 2 hours for them

Wow! $125 for a dealer doing it is sweet. Almost unbelievable, you know.

I mean it kinda makes sense to me. When you have a lift, someone who has done it probably multiple times and air tools, why should it take more than 2 hours of labor? I think the transmission shops i ask, you are paying for labor PLUS their "transmission specialty" business title in there as well
