So I had my Corvette Servo installed last week and the truck now slips when shifting between gears! I have not had time to call the mechanic who put it in yet as it is the weekend....anyone have any ideas on what the hell could be causing this?? The truck is a 2000 GMC 1500 5.3. check to make sure it hasnt popped out and the retainer ring/clip thing is in all the way

 

I will climb under there and take a look at it but as stated I was not the one to install it so I am not to familiar with it!

 

I bet he didnt reinstall the pin correctly...

 

Can some one explain to me how to look at this and see if it is correct?? It would not be the only thing they F'ed up....

 

He may have pinched an O-ring.

I did the same thing on mine twice. The black ones that are cut are hard to get in. I had to grab a make-up mirror so I could see them going in properly.

And make sure the ends of the retaining ring are within a solid area of the bore. If they are on one of the notches, the tranny case can break.

You could look up a diagram on Google. But because of the tight clearance between the tranny and the truck body, you will probably have to remove/replace the assembly in pieces.

If they screwed something up in the past I don't understand why you would go back. I guess as long as they make it right.

Where is the tranny slipping? 2nd?, 4th? or both?

 

I mainly notice it in second due to city driving! I can manually hold it in second and floor it and she will slip. The 1-2 shift seems ok but the 2-3 shift seems very lose
