Ok thanks. Maybe I'll flip mine around. My 1-2 part throttle shift is getting a little sloppy with age and miles. It also sometimes sticks in second instead of downshifting all the way to first when coming to a stop.

Check your 1-2 accumulator piston. If its plastic its possible that its cracked and this could be your problem. What happens is you have main line pressure on one side of the piston in first gear. On the other side of this piston is where 2nd gear acc. oil will be in 2nd gear. In first gear if oil pressure is on the 2nd gear side it will apply the band. Not saying this is your issue but it is certainly something I would check. If you have a plastic piston upgrade to an aluminum one or a pinless sonnax piston. HTH Vince

Thanks for the info. I'll check it this weekend. This transmission is stock so far because it's my wife's daily driver Yukon. Quickly approaching 160k miles too.

Not sure. But take pictures of what it looks like when you pull it out to reference when you are reassembling. Also make SURE the snap ring is fully seated before driving anywhere.

Its pretty straight forward to do. Just flip it if you feel you need to tighten up the band. Keep in mind this is a way to tighten up the band when its loose! Its not always needed but I will say that I do this more times than not.

Nice! You move much faster than many of the members when it comes to buying stuff then actually installing it, myself included
