Default converting drive by wire to cable?

1st off this is a great forum now my question is that i have a 04 5.3 and 4l60e out of a tahoe and its drive by wire, i was going to put a stand alone engine management system on it but im considering going to carberator, i can convert the engine real easy but what about the tranny, i dont want to put a comp-u-shift on it, is there a way to convert it to cable?

The PCM uses a lot of info from the engine airflow to determine shift pressures and other variables in the trans, it you go carb, then you will probable have to ditch the stock pcm and get a MSd or something for the ignition and some sort of controller box for the trany. Not really anyway around it that I can see.

Edit: After rereading your post, there is no way I know of to make a 4L60 a "manually" controlled trany. It need something to control it. All the shifting is done with solenoids in the VB.
