Default Converter vs Gear with a 6L80e

Ok guys like many on here Im more use to modding a truck with a 4L60e, my last truck had a cammed 6.0 3600 converter and 3:73s, it wasnt to bad driving normal. When I really got onto her she would burn the tires off!

Anyways Im wondering how my 5.3 with the 6l80e will act with 3:42s and a 3200 stall? Cam eventually. I almost think I should go with a steeper gear? Dont want to kill the current fuel mileage to much
