Default Conversion

Hey all,

I plan on converting my 1993 Chevy C2500 from the NV3500 to the NV4500. I dont need a speed machine just a tough tranny for towing my antique trantors to and from the shows. My NV3500 is starting to make some whining noise and I want to swap it for the tougher tranny. From what I can read, all I need is the NV4500 tranny, the bell housing and maybe a new driveshaft? What other mods will I need to to fit the 4500 to my 5.7L? Are the clutchs the same, slave cylinder also? Are all the bell housing patterns the same for all the 350's? Also is there anything I can do make my 3500 last until the swap? I dont beat on my rig but is there like a different fluid I can throw in there to make her last a little longer?

Sorry for all questions, I'm a high school student so I dont have alot of money but the junk yard told me 400-450 for a NV4500 and bell housing. My dad is a machinist so I can get bearings and seals cheap, but thanks for any help you can give me
