I ran into a similar problem with rear rotors. Now i'm not sure if we are talking about fitment problems in the same area though, my rotors were touching the actual caliper bracket and it turned out the rotors were the incorrect thickness as some of the newer trucks 02+ i believe and along with the SUV's got a thicker rotor which is what I had. If thats the case, just swap the caliper bracket and caliper over to the 2 piston SUV unit like i did. If the rotor is rubbing the dust shield behind the hub area, then you might be able to get away with running a small shim spacer in between the rotor and the axle flange.

I know its definitely hitting the caliper bracket. Do you have a part number for the bracket you used by chance?

I think its also hitting the dust shield, but flimsy aluminum is.. er... adjustable

The GM p/n should be 18043519 BUT you MUST replace the calipers/pads/brackets all at the same time providing you have the thicker SUV/late truck rotors. The caliper/pads/brackets are not interchangeable between the two different rotors.

Look at this post https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...+brake+upgrade I threw up a while ago and you'll see all you would need. But you must make sure that it is the incorrect rotor, if your rotor is about a 1/2 thick or so it's probably the SUV/late truck style. The thinner one was something like only 3/16" thick.

Yep. I have the 30mm think rotors. Thanks man -- you may have just saved me a HUGE headache.

One more quick question -- do you also have a 14 bolt? I ask because I already have 2 piston calipers and mounting brackets (different part numbers), but my existing SSS hardware from the 10 bolt had different mounting points. I just noticed the baer kit for the tahoe is the same part number as for the SSS, which probably means the mounting points for the caliper brackets are not going to match my axle.

Mine was on the 10 bolt.
From what I remember when going through my whole ordeal was that I believe the upgraded brakes on the SUV 10bolts is the same as the 14 bolt. Which in that case you would just need the new brackets and perhaps calipers. The Brackets aren't that expensive like $25 each or something close. I'd try getting one bracket and check it out and see if it fixes the problem, that will also quickly let you know if your existing calipers will bolt up.

Bracket mounts for the 10-bolt are 4.034" but the same measurement for the 14 bolt brackets is 7.5+" -- Plus, they both have 2 piston calipers, but the calipers can't be interchanged.

Basically Baer told me they were the same until I asked for measurements (which they say they don't have...) Wilwood actually got me measurements from their drawings and the both the brackets and calipers for my axle housing are the larger size...

So... we were going to do the big brake kit rears for the 2500HD and swap hats with teh BB rotors for the 1500 kits. Doh! 1500 kits are 1 piece rotors.

Kevin at precision is trying to get the 2500 rotor hats undrilled from Wilwood and then drill the lug holes for me. however, we don't know yet if Wilwood will sell them undrilled. If they do, great, problem solved. If the won't, I'm looking either a custom bracket and caliper, shimming the rotor itself or burning the truck

Can I get some parts off of it before you burn it?
