Default Clutch for nv3500

ok well i got a few question for fellow 5 speed guys...my clutch is working fine but is getting tired...daily driving is fine but when i try to do a few brake stands, she'll start to complain and slip...Im putting a front mount turbo on the 4.8 for now and putting the t56 install off until i get some extra money for rear gears and what not...so im planning on rockin the nv3500 for 6 months or so until the t56 goes in...

but question is, will a replacement OEM clutch hold up to abuse for the time being...i dont wanna spend extra money on an aftermarket clutch that is gonna be barely used, but i know my clutch now will not hold up to boost...let me know what u guys think...

Yes, the factory clutch is a stout unit for what it is. Mine held up well with 445/489 at the wheels.

The throwout brg was made onto the slave cyl on my 05. Actually, I messed up my hyd line and I had to buy the slave & line as a combo. I have a brand new slave and TB that you can have if you pay for shipping. I'll never use it. That is, if the 05 slave will fit the 2000 trans. I'm unsure of when they made the change from a clutch fork style 5 speed with the slave bolted on the outside of the bell housing to the current one.

Valeo and Luk both make a stock replacement for the nv3500 that I think they run about $270, If you price it out from the dealer your going to be in the $800 range if I remember correctly, The clutch, slave and everything are all the same between the nv3500 you have and the nv4500 I have, 1-1/8 x 10 input shaft and same size, kinda funny that they use the same parts in a 1/2 ton 4.8 and 3/4 ton 6.0 that weighs 6000lbs. I guess thats why they hold up well behind the 4.8

Oh yeah I believe that Luk makes the oem clutch, so if you buy from the dealer you will get the same clutch just pay a lot more.

Oh yeah on the TO bearing, you can buy it bearing separately from the Slave, so i'm guessing that you can replace it without replacing the slave, I have a TO bearing if your interested.
