Default changin gear ratios, what are the benefits?

I have 3.73 gears with a g80. I would like to swap for a detroit locker and up the gear ratio at the same time.

how beneficial would 4.10's be from 3.73s? would it be that much of a difference, or would it be better to go to 4.30s?

also about how many MPG's would I expect to lose by changing gearing?

I will most likely stay N/A for the life of this particular vehicle.

also would a 3600 stall be feasible for daily driving? I have the Yank TT3000 right now but want a bit more.

Swapping out the G80 is a bright move if you like to play with your truck. Too many have gone boom and taken out the whole box with it.

Gear size will depend on your current tire diameter and future plans. Some will calculate desired gear ratio by the rpms hit at the traps. Going to 4.10 is a 10% reduction. You will notice a better launch but not too much loss of economy, with city driving you might even improve.

Converter selection is personal, if you have a 3000 and it's too tight for you well maybe that 3600 is what you want?
