Default Causes of Pinion Seal Leak

I just had my rear end rebuilt with all new bearings, posi, and yukon gears. I have less than 100 miles and it has began leaking from the pinion area.

I want to know what can cause this. Can it be from a bad housing? Drive shaft too long? Im so frustrated right now because until I get it fixed, I cant put the miles on the truck to break the rear end so I can put it on the dyno and have it tuned so I can go past 2500rpm.

Sorry to hear you're having troubles . Is the shop that installed your LSD and gears going to take care of it?

YES! The same shop. He is on vacation all week, and then Im on vacation next week. Talk about shitty timing!

Im sure he will take care of it, but I am debating whether to take to driveline specialties and pay out of my own pocket to fix it.

I just hope it is not the housing or something else serious.

Are you willing to wait? Sometimes it's better to cut your losses and move on.
I have a good rear-end specialist (no, not a proctologist ) down here, and his prices are very reasonable.

or a breaker bar and tq wrench if you can keep the wheels locked e brake or on the ground

You may want to check and make sure your housing is vented well. That also can push fluid out the seal.

There is a seal that is crushed in when you cranked down on the nut that holds the pinion yolk on it is easy to get the wrong one or not have it lined up right takes about an hour to fix

it could, I say could be leaking out of the yoke if they didnt put any sealer on the splines of the yoke. I have seen this quite often...
