Default Carrier Removal

2008 4x4 Silverado. Sheared a few teeth on my spider gears, and the carrier has a small crack. Ordered a new carrier with spider gears, and 4.56 ring and pinion while I'm at it. I have everything undone, carrier pin out, c clips off axles, axles slid out about a foot, caps off the carrier, but I cannot get the carrier out for the life of me. I've pulled on it, turned it, pryed on it, cussed at it, nothing worked. Any tips of tricks of getting this thing out? Parts will be here tomorrow or Friday, and I want it back on the road asap, it's my dd and I need it for my line of work.

Put a 3/4" box wrench on one of the ring gear bolts and then spin the pinion yoke by hand. The wrench will hit the housing and keep the carrier from spinning. Then when you spin the pinon, the carrier will have no where to go but out.

The wrench thing was the only thing I hadn't tried before, I posted here, although I was planning to I figured I'd post here while I was waiting for the cold to move out, because my brother decided to turn our shop into a paint booth for planes so I'm dealing with the elements. I'll try the wrench on my lunch break. Thanks!
