Default Caltracs and still have axle hop...

So I installed my Caltracs this weekend and have them set at 1/4 turn prelode and still have bad axle when it was wet this morning I had my damn axle still!!!

I am going to try another 1/4 turn tomorrow and see what happens...

What are you guys running for preload on your DD trucks with Caltracs?

Thanks, Matt

I don't run any preload on the street. I tighten them until it makes contact with the leaf spring and thats it. I get no wheel hop like this. I will get a little tire chatter sometimes as the tires fight for traction, but no wheel hop. Did you use the aluminum bushings in the leaf spring eyelets?

Are your shocks worn out? Could you give us more info on your suspension setup? Are you still rocking the Gov-Bomb?

I have mine set to 1/4 turn after touching when the canopy is off, and a little tighter when it's on.

Rear suspension is stock with the overloads taken out.

Yes I used the Aluminum bushings

Never had a G80. I run a Powertrax quikloc

I had to add a 4 degree wedge with my setup to get the pinion angle right. You'll need to get a gauge on your setup.

You never said anything about your shocks....

Shocks are 4 months old ranchos.

I am going to put a pinion gauge on it this weekend and see where we go from there
