bent leaf springs isnt cause of design, its cause the spring isnt strong enough to handle the pressure from the caltrac actually doing its job

Are you guys talking about the bar hitting the overload spring or the roller that contacts the top of the leafspring in the front

I hadn't heard of any leaf spring failures or issues caused by Cal Tracs before I read this thread. I wonder what kind of car or truck it was? Did everyone remove their overload spring? I removed mine and the truck rides quite a bit better than it did before, with 1 full turn of preload on the bars. When I did the Cal Tracs on my 6.4 powerstroke, the forward brackets did not come with a urethane sleeve to cover the rod that sits on top of the leaf. I actually added a urethane cover myself as the bars would clank like a mother without them. But these new bars I ordered last week from Calvert had the urethane preinstalled. 100% silent, can't even tell they're on the truck. I put them on as preparation for 4wd launches to prevent excessive squat and unloading the front tires. Combined with limiting straps or coilovers (haven't decided yet) I'm sure they'll be very effective.
