I have a 2/4 with stock leaf springs and they sent me the standerd kit and they said it will fit fine. They send you a new bushing regardless of the springs they just need to know how the truck was lowered in order to send the proper replacement bushing.

You might want to double check that the bushing is the correct size before you go any further! Do you have a press to get the new bushing in?

Why does Hotchkis have anything to do with Caltracs?
If I bought the Caltracs for my VHO, would I have to change out to a different leaf spring bushing? Or will Caltracs know exactly what I will need for my particular truck due to it not being lowered?

Jim
The Hotchkis set up is designed for the stock leafs and height. If you lowered the truck there are slight changes that need to be made. A lowered truck will need a shorter bar due to less of an arche on the springs. The bushing on the hotchkis spring is different than the stock bushing. I called hotchkis and checked the bushing size when I ordered mine. Off the top of my head that was the bushing size they used (RB185). I'd double check if I where you. Have all the info you need because you make get a new guy that might not know what hotchkis setup uses. 1truess and fl8 had this problem when they ordered. I got my order right the first time.

I must say the install went all right. The bushing are very hard to get in and out with out a press. The bars seem to fit good even with the arch in it. The part number is 3400

Glad to hear the install went well. Looks like I have the right kit.

So how did you get the bushing out without a press? Any tips?

Also does the kit have a new bushing you replace the hotchkis one with?

.... there a pain-in-the-*** without a press! You have to beat the old ones out and be very carefull putting the new ones in.
A question: why don't you have CalTracs install them for you? Then you know there right. They only took 90/mins. to install mine. $100.00/bucks! and because I paid cash... he took $50.00/BUCKS-OFF!

... AND THEY WORK!
