Default Caltrac setup question

I went out to adjust my Caltracs according to this post...

Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together - View Single Post - Caltracs & drag radials

...and I don't have enough play in the Caltracs to back off three full turns once the pin touches the leaf pack. I adjusted the u-bolt/axle plates so the mount on that end was as far back as possible, but was only able to back off two turns before I ran out of room. Is there any other adjustment available, or are my bars just slightly too long?

Default adjust

cut a 1/4" off one end of the bars or an 1/8" off both ends
that should help get the setting you want
