Default Calling anyone that did a McGaughy 11004 kit......

Thanks, kit arrived today and already I feel stupid. From what I understand on the instructions the front hangar(s) are replaced with the new parts and put the new shackle in front also? So you'd have 2 shackles per leaf spring out back? Ya gotta replace the old shackle with the new shackle. Please can somebody help me out here?
TIA

It's one hanger and shackle per side. The hanger goes up front and the shackle is at the rear.

They can only go in one spot.

Can't use shackles and hangers for 4" on a crew cab. Have to do a flip and adjustable rear hanger

BTW- moving to the rear soon. To get that front rear spring bolt off I'm gonna hafta move the gas tank, don't wanna drop it altogether. Can I just loosen the straps and nudge it around on a floor jack to move the bolt far enough out to remove the leafspring?
TIA

Yup, that's what I did when I did my lower hangers.

You may be able to just loosen the nut, then have a jack under the rear diff itself and just push it left and right to swing the leaf spring under the axle. That is if you have the vehicle jacked up high enough and there is enough movement side to side in that rubber bracket line that connects to the rear diff.

I wanted to get the whole spring out to press out the bushings, as well as getting it under the axle....

You can cut the bolt flush with the bracket to shorten it up and put a new one in from the opposite side. I dropped the tank the last two times, it's just easier than messing around trying to push it out of the way imo
