I just fail to see the point of having something that smooths out your launch and improves traction and not use it on the street where you need it the most.

Maybe not everyone thinks the same way you do.

Cody, you need to back off already man. What's your fricken deal anyways.
So I post a solution to having Caltracs and eliminating the noise. Do you need to criticize what I do???
It's a good idea IMO.
The fact of the matter is, your truck's not a daily driver. Mine and a few others are.
The bars come off easily. That's my solution. If you don't like it, then plain and simple, just don't do it..............
I don't play too much on the street. So I really don't care if there not on all of the time.
My truck is "mine". Your truck is "yours". That's what makes each his own.
Lets just leave it at that.

Jim

I dont think it's you ... I think it's that some people think they have the one and only solution to a problem, and their way is the only way to think regardless of others concerns and problems.

Don't let a few foul posts spoil your thread. I hope your questions did at least get answered, if not, please feel free to ask away.

If you need anything straightened up, please feel free to PM me. I will do what I can!

I have cal tracks and noticed a way to quiet them down without the rubber hose trick (note: I got tired of replacing the rubber hose so Im not bashing the hose idea)

Anyways....after some tinkering I found that the noise I was getting wasnt from the cross bolt actually contacting the spring it was the whole pivot mechanism itself rattling around since my street settings are ~4 turns of the bar backed off. To keep things from rattling around I tightened the cross bolt (the one that contacts the leaf springs) down just enough so that it caused the pivot plates to very slightly squeeze the leaf spring...just enough so things dont rattle around but not enough that the pivot was hard to move by hand.

I havent heard a single noise on the street since then. Be aware that as I mentioned my street setting is whith the bars backed off quite a bit so if you run the cal tracks with the cross bolt really close to the spring youre gonna get some noise as the suspension moves. The rubber hose works in that case but as was mentioned it does wear out and require periodic replacement.

Basically if you must run the bars with the cross bolt close to or touching the leaf spring youre gonna get noise or replace the rubber hose on a regular basis but if you back the bars 3 or 4 turns off and snug the cross bolt down like I mentioned any noise should go away.
