My old 98 4x4 would smoke the tires in first, second, and third, but that didnt mean it was more powerful than my current truck. It has to do with alot of things, tuning, suspension setup, gearing, everything. There are 700 hp trucks that dont burnout well because they are setup to hook and book, doesnt mean they dont have any torque down low. You are caught up in the moment over there where nbs engines are said "to have no torque or usable power down low". That is all a bunch of crap and you know it. Yes, the 350 is a great engine, but lets face it, everything doesnt have to be compared to it. This truck may just hook and go, a burnout doesnt prove how much power its putting down. He may have a tuning issue, may not. Hell, my 4.8 will blow the tires off, but I am sure this truck is putting down way more power and torque than mine. Rant over.LOL

OK, you have a real nice truck man. Your mod list is outrageous. I Know I am much lighter but there has got to be something wrong. It must be tuning or something. Can you post a log of you mashing the throttle from a dead stop?

Dont feel so bad...its better for ET's that u hook up! Most guys on here wud rather have ur prob. What tires u run? Those wheels/tires are heavy and thats not helping. Avv's aren't the easiest things to break loose. Before I went 370, I had to hit the throttle just right to get some burn...R/

even w/ a power brake? I wish my SS had that problem, As much as I love the smoke, spinning until the 1-2 shift sucks if you actually want to get going..... not to mention what my tires look like.

Either you are using too much brake, or it is a tuning issue. FWIW, I can light the tires up on my SSS even with 400lbs worth of sandbags for winter traction in my bed.
