Default Bump stops for lowered 4x4 trucks

Searched all the threads i could and not really finding a direct answer.

My truck in question is a 05 1/2 4x4. Duramax purple keys lowered down, noticed the front bump stops are smashed and are to large for how low the truck is

Some people say with the 4x4 they have to be there and that you can drill a hole or 2 in them or cut a little off the bottom

Ive noticed that these are not the bolt in type its a welded cap that has the bump stop pressed in it, not sure if there is a better replacement stop for them? I dont want to cause any issues but i have the feeling its messing with the ride quailty

Thanks in advance

Yea I believe the bump stops on us torsion bar trucks are the progressive part of the suspension system.

seems the general answer is cut a little off of the stock ones. not sure what else to do as these arent ones you can just take in and out

You can use belltech bumpstops in place of the stocks or just cut yours.

How? I called belltech they dont have 4x4 replacement only for 2wd ones that you can un bolt.
4x4 has a welded perch that the bump stop is pressed into, so id have to cut it off and drill a hole in the subframe to be able to put a different one in.

I have no issue doing that but i dont want to cut the factory one off to find out the other one isnt going to work

the belltech one fits into the welded cup. Pull the old rubber one out and put the new one in.

I would measure what you need and order those. Im not sure if the bolt needs to be cut or if it comes out the other side. The diameter should be the same as stock so it should just press in.

The reason i think would have to be cut is there is no hole in there from factory. That was first thing i was looking for on my truck. I could drill and make one though im sure.

I wonder which ones are for front and for rear. my rears are just fine i think. ill have to measure the stock front ones
