Default Built 60 or 80

Money is an issue but plan to have heads cam on my LQ9 Sion and hope to be 450 on motor and 600-650 on spray after that I'm thinking performabuilt 4l60 and converter combo with the 2 yr warranty but I don't want it to blow on nitrous bc it is my DD any suggestions? And a stock 80e is out of the question I just don't trust junkyard stuff anymore

I am going with a built 80E for two reasons.

1. It will be my DD and can not afford to have my trans go out multiple times.

2. I got a great deal on a multi disk converter.

I bought a 80e core for 200 and I am not sure how much the build is going to cost in full.

Never heard of that type of LQ9, a Sion? Is that new. I think u have an idea already that u need either one built, since u don't want a yard 80E. That said, a 60E takes less to turn, weighs less, has a better 1st, but is weaker. You already have wiring & X-member, so it's non-issue there.
80E takes more power to turn, weighs more, & 1st is only 2.48. Needs d/shaft shortened, minor wiring rework, 80E segment swap & X-member. And of course it's stronger.

Sorry I'm on my phone typing this i plan to cam the lq9 SOON. The truck is a 04 1500 2wd with rear tow bar removed and soon the spare will be removed, that probally all I'll take off for weight reduction maybe the tailgate for the track and it has 85 lbs 22's all around but I'll have drag wheels before I run it at the track

If you are gonna have a cam'd 6.0 with n2o. I would just forget about the 60e yes you can build it and you will spend a ton of money to make it right. Or you can get a good
80e and build it alittle and have a way more reliable trans. Thats what im doing.

4l80e. Mine's bone stock, tweaked on the tune and the 2-3 shift at 6400 is just amazing how firm and quick it is. I can't even imagine how awesome a built 80e shifts.
