Break Pad Life?
#1
Like the title says; What is the normal break pad life expectancy? I remember this being discussed previously but I couldn't find anything with the search button. ("We have a search button!?")

I am almost at 70 and they still look fine. But my brake light went on, so I am wondering if that has anything to do with that. The pads on these things are the best I remember right before they came out with the these trucks, they said that the life expectancy on the pads was going to be three times as much as the 98 and lower silverado's

i put about 105K on my rear pads and i am still on my stock front pads at 113K. my truck is an 01. so they have lasted quite a while. i have my pads in the garage waiting for the front to start to fade and squeel but so far they are holding up. i tow some heavy stuff from time to time and they still stop like always.

Is this kind of common for these trucks the rear pads going first than the front ones. That is weird becuase the rear pads should be lasting longer than the front ones.
I also heard that the emergency brake needs to be adjusted every now and then on these, if not it can cause premature wear on the pads and ruin the rotors, is this true.

ya you would think the rears should last longer. i guess it is because they get alot of debris caught in there.
my e-brake sucked. i ripped it out when i replaced the rear rotors
