No real mods...pretty much stock. But I was speeding and hit a dip. I'm sure that's a big part of it. I lost most if not all my fluids. I'm thinking that's why it was grinding when I put it in park. Only did it in park. Nott R or N or D. I'm hoping it didn't damage much, my luck it did. Truck's too low to crawl up under and look.

Forgot to add it also beat up my exhaust the muffler will need to be replaced on mine. I am also pretty much stock just have leveling shackles in the back.

Reason it grinded trying to go to park is because there isn't anything to stop the transmission from spinning it has no resistance because the driveshaft is missing. Same exact scenario as my incident

It's not a hard job if you have simple tools and want to tackle it yourself.

I ordered a replacement shaft from gmpartsdirect

Part # 15112325

This is for the long one piece aluminum driveshaft

Thanks! Didn't think about the trans spinning. My exhaust is beat to **** too, but that is no biggie. I wanted to swap to something a bit more quiet anyhow.

I can do the work, I usually do it all, but it's in the street as my driveway is somewhat steep, screw pushing it up there to work on it, and I just don't have the time.

I may just swap in a one piece for now to get it running, and do the 2pc later on when time permits! Thanks again gentlemen.

I did mine in the street rather than my drive way because I just didn't feel like pushing it. I didn't even have to jack it up really but the street I lived on wasn't a very busy street, you could always take it to a friends house.

* I forgot your truck is also lower than mine so you would have to jack it up *

Yeah I was dreading looking under it. I'm buying a new car so I'll be installing a brand new GM unit with all new ujoints etc. New shocks and may bring it back to a 4/6 for a better selling point.
