Default Bet you never seen one of these!

Yeah, that's my driveshaft...

Think that's bad? The transfer case is also broken open.
Guess the 4L70 sux too.

Since you've seen 'em before, fill me in. WTF? Seemed the tranny might of locked up... the transfer case is cracked open and the driveshaft tore apart.

It was towing a boat, downshifted, BOOM! Maybe 40-45mph up hill.

Ive seen that occur only from a performance / Racing aspect not from towing a boat lol.

That really sucks im assuming the d/s was the weakspot in the drivetrain when the vehicle downshifted towing a boat going up an incline.

Then again something may have locked up like you said but i doubt it, im thinking when the d/s sheared it was turning 2.5-3k rpm? all that rotational motion has to go somewheres and maybe it smacked the T-case.

Any dents on the d/s where it looks like it hit something?
its hard to tell in the pic

THEN DID IT ABOUT AT THE 60' MARK 2 WEEKS LATER WITH THE SAME MUSTANG..... WORST PART WAS TAHT NEW SHAFT WAS A PRO STOCK RATED SHAFT.... SHOULD HAVE HELD UP TO 1500 H.P.

I WAS AROUND 1000 ISH AT THE TIME.

Dunno what/if anything got hit or what blew up first. I just hope the DS ripped apart before it may have damaged my RE too.
