Best TC for Escalade with Procharger
#1
So my 2004 Escalade is a bit of a dog off the line. Others in the forced induction section have said that with the P-1SC that a higher stall converter really wakes up the vehicle off the line.
Tranny is stock, not sure the gears (I am 2nd owner), vehicle has 40,000 miles on it, Procharger P-1SC, Nelson tune, ceramic headers, snow meth kit, magnaflow exhaust, running 22's all year round.
My goal is to wake the vehicle up off the line to keep up with my magnacharged Yukon, but without putting so much stress on the tranny that I blow it up too (although I will cross that bridge when it happens)
So my question is, what brand, what stall, and how much should I expect to pay? I have gotten installed quotes (without brand being named) from local speed shops of anywhere from 1000 to 2600 or so (this one included a 700 custom tune but I will probably just send my pcm to Allen when I get it done since I already paid him for a tune).
Appreciate any input.

Well, your trying to do things that aren't really meant to be done. If you want an escalade with a procharger to move out like anything with a magnacharger your going to need alot of converter. Atleast a 9.5" vigilante with a flash of about 3500 rpm would be a start. If you can deal with that in an everyday driver go for it, but if you do alot of in town driving everyday, it will get pretty old.

I agree, if you can deal with it in a daily driver then i say go for it as well!!!
as far as paying 1000 to 2600........... i paid 600 for my converter then another 1000 for a complete "beefed up" tranny rebuild.

What is a "complete beefed up tranny rebuild for a grand"? I could understand the converter price if it was used but not new.
I spent over $5000 grand at FLT getting my tranny/converter.

The most expensive converter Ive seen for these tranny's are about $900. Average is $600 and the cheapest is the Dacco converters which I ran in my 99 and my 03 for $225
