Default Best Shocks to Replace OEM

I have a '06 Z71 that I just decranked and am taking the rear blocks out. Looking to replace the OEM shocks out (66K). I've heard alot of good about Bilstein's and probably for good reason. What other monotube shocks are comparable for the money, cheaper? I've got alot of crap streets in these hilly western PA streets, so what's the best shock for my application?

for a 2" drop you can probably get away with the stock shock length but I have to recommend the Belltech Street Performance series shocks.

Installing Bilsteins made a major improvement in ride over the factory Z71 shocks in my truck, I was very happy with them when I was at stock height. Now that I'm lowered I really need a shock that's intended for a lowered truck though...wish that Bilstein made a 4x4 drop shock. As trever1t mentioned, if you're only going down 2" in the rear you will probably be fine with a factory height shock, although the Belltech Street Performance shocks have been getting good reviews and are made for lowered trucks.

Just order 2wd bilsteins for the rear. That will solve your length dilema. I just ordered front and rears for mine.

Makes sense. Should I get lower shocks for the front since I decranked a little, or just get stock height front shocks?
