Default best gm transmission guy in ky

I just finished up a bored and cammed 6.0 swap to my 99 excab silverado and I thought the stock 4l60 would hold up for alittle while because I just had it rebuilt about 15k ago but I thought wrong it lasted about 400 miles then ripped 2nd gear completely so then I started looking at my options and I didnt really want to do the 4l80 swap cause the lose of hp and weight so I contact all of my local shop and I really wanted a 700 hp trans for a procharger late but all the shops around me wanted upward of 2000 just for 500hp then I found this shop berea ky and he is a really nice guy and does amazing work he set me up with a 700hp rebuild for 866 plus 300 labor but then he gave me the option to up it more for 200 plus a cooler and a high performance boost controlled pump and corvette servo upgrade so all said and done it was $1480 for a 900hp trans and it shifts so good it squirrels the tires every time you shift if you are on it or not his shop is called costume auto performance

that trans isnt goin to hold 900hp in a extended cab truck and breaking the tires loose on the shifts..
Go 4L80E and be done. You dont loose enough power for it to matter and they are really nice with boost.

If you go with that transmission your goin to end up goin 4L80E after you break it a few times

they have a 00 ss procharged camaro pushing 700hp and it holding up just fine and mine has 16 kevlar clutches and kevlar bands 1-4 so it will hold up for what i want

I bet that camaro doesnt weigh 5200# either.. The fancy clutchs arent the weak point, its the hard parts.

Ive broken a bunch of 4L60E's and one of the main causes is a shift thats too firm. Burnt clutchs, broken output shafts, you name it and ive broken it except the pan.

Have no idea on the 5psi, but it ran the same times on a 75 shot of nitrous but slower MPH. It went a 15.2@98? N/A with the turbo cam.

It all depends on where im goin. On a long trip it will get 23-24mpg, on my daily commute its anywhere from 14-17. Depends on how backed up traffic is on the interstate.

You could save the time and money if you went ahead with a 4l80E with the procharger.

Just tryin to help. Ive been thru 17 4l60E's. And im still rockin this stock 80E with a shift kit for the past 6 years.
