Default Beefing up 4l60e

My trans started slipping on the 1-2 shift so i found a complete 4.8 And 4l60e with harness and ecu for 250 bucks. I have started putting in the transgo hd2 shift kit in, but I broke one of the shift solenoids. All I have left is to drill the separator plate and put back together. I also have a vette servo. I put 1 washer in the second accumulator. But I'm thinking I should get the alluminum piston before putting it bavk together.

Also it came with a clutch spring kit, is it possible for a diyer to install that?
Any cheap easy parts to change while I'm in there?

Yes it is! Insides of 60es are easy to work with

I would swap in a decent 3-4 clutch pack as well as a new band

I'd grab a book too

Put some new Borg warner hi energy clutches in, new bands and a beast sunshell if you can. These items coupled with the shift kit you have will work pretty well together. Also dont forget new seals.

You have an ECSB 4x4, right? Plus you have a heavy 20" wheel/tire combo? You're wasting your time, energy, and cash on the 60E. Especially if you're not going "all-out" with the build. Might as well just start lighting $100 bills on fire.

Sorry if that seems harsh. I've been jilted by the 60E, she forked me over & took all my money, now she's gonna do it to you. Just trying to save you some heartache & cash.

This is the most poetic way I've ever seen someone say "Get a 80e" I've ever seen.

Sell the nitrous kit, do the 80E swap. Then save up & buy another nitrous kit. I guarantee you'll be money ahead in the long run.

Well the 80e isnt an option at the moment, allthough i want to go that route its not possible.

Im picking up an alluminum accumulator piston this week and i need to know what else i should get that i can do myself and not break the bank.
